Keen to learn what makes a great art museum and how it affects society?  Care to peek into the crystal ball of what art museums in Singapore may be like?

If so, the “Making A Great Art Museum: Contending with Southeast Asian Modernities and Art” symposium that is organized by the National Heritage Board and the Institute of Policy Studies is just for you!

Happening on Wednesday, 13 July 2011, 9.00am to 6.30pm, at LASALLE College of the Arts, it features prominent academics and experts from the UK, Netherlands, Thailand and more.

At this first-of-its-kind symposium, you will explore the challenges involved in developing a ‘great’ art museum. Conducted in four panel sessions, speakers will also discuss the notion of modernity in Southeast Asian Art, and the current and future state of art museums in Singapore.

More details are available at www.spp.nus.edu.sg/ips/art_museum_symposium.aspx

See you at the symposium!
